Located on the doorstep of the University of Wisconsin-Madison , The University Book Store proudly supplies the academic community with textbooks, supplies and tools for the mind. The University Book Store is a private organization that accepts no aid or funding from the University or state of Wisconsin.

The University Book Store has adhered closely to its mission of providing goods and services at the lowest possible prices consistent with sound business policy since 1894. Its diverse selection of books, collegiate clothing and supplies reflects the wide variety of backgrounds and interests that make the University of Wisconsin a world-class institution.

The University Book Store hasn't stayed in business for over 100 years just by supplying UW students with textbooks and Badger fans with sweatshirts. The University Book Store exemplifies "full-service store" every day we open our doors. The following are just a sample of what we do:

Special Orders

Whether it's a textbook, medical book, novel or kid's book, our staff is eager to help you track it down. While it's true that we stock over 150,000 titles, we know our customers have unique tastes and demands and we are glad to accommodate them.

Gift Certificates

Your buddy reads like there's no tomorrow, but you have no idea if he's gobbled up the new Pynchon or surveyed that classic Twain. No need to hem and haw, buy a gift certificate. They're good at all of our locations and they're a perfect gift for that college student you know.

Conferences

The University of Wisconsin and the city of Madison both host hundreds of conferences each year. The University Book Store can help out with books or Badger necessities. Contact our marketing director for more information.

In-Store Services

The University Book Store is often the center of operations for University of Wisconsin students and faculty. In the store, we offer check cashing, academic attire rental and purchase, film developing, laminating, fax, tape duplicating, out-of-print book searches, engraving and much more.
